Course: Breakfast, Brunch, Dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Scrambled Eggs
  • 4 large eggs freshest available
  • 2 tablespoons milk, plant milk, or water unsweetened almond milk recommended for plant milk
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil or butter for the pan
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Equipment

  • Whisk
  • Non-stick skillet

Method

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl. Add the milk, plant milk, or water, salt, and pepper.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined and slightly frothy.
  3. Heat the olive oil or butter in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
  4. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Let it sit for about 30 seconds without stirring, until the edges begin to set.
  5. Gently push the cooked egg from the edges toward the center with a spatula, allowing the uncooked egg to flow underneath. Continue this process until the eggs are mostly set but still slightly moist.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. The residual heat will continue to cook the eggs to your desired consistency.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

The freshness of your eggs significantly impacts the final texture and flavor. Using local, fresh eggs will result in a creamier, more vibrant scramble. For plant-based options, choose a milk alternative with a neutral flavor profile, such as unsweetened almond milk.
