Quick Sausage and Cream Pasta

Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 1 package Pasta
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Onion chopped, optional
  • 1 pkg Jimmy Dean Regular bulk sausage
  • 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Beef Stock or 1 cup water + bouillon paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup Light Cream heavy cream also works
  • Parmesan Cheese grated, optional

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Large skillet

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over low heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. If using onion, you can skip this step.
  2. Add the sausage meat to the skillet and fry until cooked through. Drain off any excess fat if desired.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and beef stock. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer over low heat and cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the light cream to the sauce and stir until well combined. Avoid drinking the entire pot of sauce before serving.
  5. While the sauce simmers, cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions. Drain the pasta.
  6. Combine the drained pasta with the prepared sauce. Stir to coat evenly.
  7. Serve immediately, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

This recipe is easily adaptable. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or spices to customize the flavor.
