Servings: 4 burgers
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • 1 lb ground turkey 93% lean or 90% lean recommended
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For Serving
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 red onion slices

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the burgers tough.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Clean and lightly oil the grill grates.
  4. Place the turkey patties on the preheated grill. Grill for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are cooked through. Do not overcook.
  5. Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for the last minute of cooking, if desired.
  6. Assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, and red onion.

Notes

For extra moisture and flavor, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil or a teaspoon of your favorite spice blend to the turkey mixture. Serve immediately.
