Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 1 package (12 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/2 cup horseradish sauce
  • 3/4 pound sliced deli ham
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Equipment

  • 9x9-in. baking pan
  • small skillet

Method

  1. Without separating the rolls, cut rolls in half horizontally. Arrange bottom halves of rolls in a greased 9x9-in. baking pan. Spread cut side of roll bottoms with horseradish sauce. Layer with ham and cheese; replace top half of the rolls.
  2. In a small skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir until tender, 1-2 minutes. Stir in brown sugar, spicy brown mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Pour this mixture over the assembled rolls.
  3. Refrigerate the sliders, covered, for several hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the sliders from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  5. Bake the sliders, covered, for 25 minutes. Then, remove the cover and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
