Method
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
- Let the treats cool for at least 30 minutes.
- While the treats are cooling, prepare the decorations. In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white chocolate chips, blue candy melts, and red candy melts according to package directions. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil into each melted candy to make it smoother.
- Once the treats have cooled, cut them into squares or rectangles.
- Drizzle the melted white chocolate, blue candy melts, and red candy melts over the treats in a firecracker pattern. Immediately sprinkle with star sprinkles before the candy hardens.
- Allow the candy to set completely before serving.
Notes
You can also use food coloring to tint the melted white chocolate if you don't have colored candy melts.
