Method
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place pretzel squares on the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt the red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions. Stir until smooth. If needed, add shortening to thin the chocolate.
- Spoon or drizzle the melted red candy over the pretzel squares, covering them completely or partially as desired.
- Repeat the melting and coating process with the white and blue candy melts, alternating colors and patterns on different pretzels.
- If using chocolate chips for drizzling, melt them and drizzle over the coated pretzels. Immediately sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes, or until the candy coating is firm.
- Once set, carefully remove the pretzel treats from the parchment paper.
Notes
Store the pretzel treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
