Ingredients

For the Salmon
  • 1 pound salmon fillet about 2 pounds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning to 1-1/2
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 small onion sliced and separated into rings
  • 6 slices lemon
  • 1/4 cup butter cubed
For the Dill Sauce
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 3/4 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pinch pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Baking pan
  • Foil

Method

  1. Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil and grease it lightly. Place the salmon fillet skin side down on the foil.
  2. Sprinkle the salmon with lemon pepper and onion salt. Top with the sliced onion and lemon slices. Dot the salmon with butter cubes.
  3. Fold the foil around the salmon to seal it tightly.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  5. Carefully open the foil, allowing the steam to escape. Broil the salmon 4-6 inches from the heat for 3-5 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon is baking, combine all the dill sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Serve the dill sauce with the baked salmon.
