- Prepare the salad components: Chop the romaine lettuce, halve the cherry tomatoes, thinly slice the red onion, and dice the cooked chicken breast. Place these in a large bowl.
- Cook the bacon until crisp. Crumble it and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing, sour cream, and chopped dill to make the dressing.
- Pour about half of the dressing over the salad ingredients and toss gently to combine.
- Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. This helps the flavors meld and keeps the lettuce crisp.
- Just before serving, add the crumbled bacon and croutons to the salad. Toss again lightly.
- Serve immediately, with any remaining dressing on the side if desired.
Notes
For an extra crisp salad, ensure your lettuce is thoroughly dried after washing. You can also add other vegetables like cucumber or avocado.
