Ingredients

For the Wings
  • 1 cooking spray
  • 2 pounds chicken wingettes or wingettes and drumettes defrosted if frozen
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Seasoning Mix
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional (use more regular ground paprika to substitute)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin optional
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with vegetable oil until evenly coated.
  4. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the seasoning mix. Stir well.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the oiled chicken wings and toss until they are fully coated.
  6. Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are cooked through and crispy.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, watching them closely to prevent burning.
