- Gather all your ingredients.
- Bring the water, soy sauce, and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in the instant rice, then remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a medium skillet or wok over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and green beans or peas in the hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour the beaten egg into the skillet and fry for 2 minutes, scrambling the egg as it cooks.
- Add the cooked rice to the egg mixture and mix well. Season with black pepper.
Notes
This recipe is a great base for customization. Feel free to add other vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, or broccoli. You can also add cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu for extra protein.
